soooo ...
google told me that dw allows users to have multiple journals under one account with easy switching between them. this would be so ideal for my compartmentalization dream & would allow me to start writing more.
but i can't find it in the faq.
any idea where to find this info or directions on how to use this feature? is it even real? D:

How's It Goin, YEM-edition
Hard to believe, but it's true: we're in the final stretch of 2025's Year-End Marathon. If my calculations are correct, this should put par at 24 days or 24 590 words, depending on your pledge type. Any way you look at it, that's a lot. If you're on par or ahead of the curve, congrats, you're amazing. If you've fallen behind, that's okay, too. You're trying and that also makes you amazing. Yes, even those who feel (rightly or wrongly) there is no way you can meet your pledge. Abuela is proud of all of you!
So as we enter this final stretch, how are things going? If you've hit your goal, are you going to keep going? If you haven't, do you have any strategies you intend to use to carve out writing time during this busy time of year? What can we do to help you, ahem, get your words out?
For myself, after (accidentally) hitting my goal in the first week of the month, I've let myself shift gears a bit to work on revising and rewriting, while also being very aware that the last half of this month was likely to be Very Tiring. Banking so many words in November definitely helped take the pressure off, but I'm going to keep at it for at least another week. For one thing, I've got some dangling ends I'd like to get settled before the new year!

Hi everyone! Instead of discussing an episode this week, we're going on our first mid-season writing break, now that we're approximately one-third of the way through season 2. I'm going to make this break two weeks long since I'm quite busy during the holidays and know I'll need a rest. A somewhat belated wishlist
I'm so late with posting - have been utterly swamped by life and projects in the past few weeks. It's been exciting seeing all your wishlists come in and I hope I can find a few minutes to check out some and see if there's anything I can contribute.
This year I don't have a ton of things to wish for:
1. Volunteer to help with the Yahoo Groups (Fandom) Rescue Project. It's a massive project but it would be so neat to get it all done, and 100 good volunteers would do it. Other than anime in general (some specific fandoms not counted there) and a few tiny things, most areas are still open for tagging (everything from genealogy to bands to alumni groups to every fandom under the sun that existed before 2019). All you need is time, the ability to use Google Sheets, and the ability to be careful with details. If you can't do one of those, maybe you know someone who could and might be interested in helping? Just tell them about the project, perhaps? :)
2. Old educational software (game or not) for Windows you don't want or can't use: (But definitely ask me first, in case I already have it and you'd be wasting your time/money to send them here.) I'm taking old computers people can't use or don't want, putting Linux on them, and configuring them to be useful for a local school or low-income families. If the computers are relatively new enough (like Windows 10, as opposed to Windows XP or 7) I can install a software program called Lutris which acts as a one-stop game/program launcher for games from a number of sources - not only modern Linux ones, but modern Windows games, DOS, Amiga, and my favorite - old games (generally abandonware at this point) that ran on Windows 3.1/95/98. It's easier to run them on Linux now than Windows, and I've been figuring out how to create Lutris installer scripts for many games to make it easy for others. So if you find you have CDs of educational software/games from that era which are buggy or just don't run on your Windows 10/11 computer, and you want to get rid of them, I'm happy to be the destination for them.
3. Donate older-but-still-usable electronics to organizations that can make them useful. I love seeing computers revitalized with Linux. While I'm sure you're too far from me to donate any to my project (anyone in western WA state? lol), there are organizations in many locations that will refurbish and make older computers useful. (Though I maintain that to really make use of old hardware you have to switch away from Windows - which is far more resource-hungry than most Linux distros. I don't know how many organizations consider that one, lol.)
4. Write me a fanfic! You can find my fanfic exchange letters here.

I'm not currently interested in receiving Matrix fic, and haven't watched past S3 of FBI and S2 of FBI: Most Wanted, so although you'll find those in the exchange letters, it's probably best to stay clear of those (unless you think you can write a spoiler-free FBI or FBI MW fic). And I know this is very, very late to ask for a fic, and I absolutely don't expect one by Christmas or New Year's or anything like that - but you will honestly make me happy *any* time of the year if you write me a fic, so if this is something you think you can do, please don't worry about timeframes. :) (Use the DNW list from the most recent letter or letters if you do.)
5. Obligatory Amazon wishlist: Here
I'm always good with used books, and for CDs/DVDs I just want them in nice enough condition that they aren't scratched.
6. Music instruments: This one I don't expect to ever receive, but I'm wishing anyway. Should you come across a spare musical instrument, I can put it to good use. Either by playing it myself (pretty much anything stringed I'm good with) or by giving it to someone else who can't afford an instrument but who has talent and desire to play.
7. Code me the program I've dreamed of. This one's just as unlikely as the last, lol. I've learned some programming skills but I don't have the time to learn more, and I would have to be mentored through creating this program specifically anyway, lol. Some years ago I created a 14-page outline of a music player that I would love - and there isn't a single program out there that even comes CLOSE to having the features I want (multi-genre labeling and filtering without interacting with the actual files' tags, for instance). I run Linux Mint as my main OS and would want anything I use to run on Linux natively.
If you're going the route of mailing me directly (such as for wishes #2 or #6, or if you have a personal copy of something on my Amazon wishlist that you want to send), PM me for my address.

I mean, I think we need all the pining, right? I would love anything set in post book 2 that shows these two guys realizing just how much they hate being apart, even, if Reece has "turned."
I'd also love anything set between the books, although I know it's not a lot of time that has passed when Twisted Shadows begins, it's clear that Reece and Evan have been texting regularly in the interim. And I love how well we get that sense in the first few chapters of them talking more and more, thinking of each other more and more--falling in love. So anything that explores and expands on that dynamic would also be amazing.
Or I'm not against some imagined happy future for them if you want to hand wave (or if you're even brave enough to take a shot at) how they get out of their cliff hanger and live happily ever after.

I am among the fan girls who read the "From Antarctica with Love" article and became deeply invested in the Atkinson/Pennell love story. I would love anything with the two of them getting to spend some time together away from their duties. I'd also love to see a bit more from Atkinson's pov about Pennell as it feels like we have more of the reverse in Pennell's diaries. I'm okay with the story being realistic about the time period that they were in and the incredibly challenging and harrowing events that they lived through. Some melancholy is okay, but would love for there to be more happiness than sadness.

River is my favorite. He is so dumb and means so well, and yet he is so damn bad at being a spy. I love him fucking up in lovable ways that come from his good intentions. I love all his abandonment issues and his relationship with his granddad, and yeah, I just love River.
Jackson I love for the total opposite reasons. I love that he appears bumbling and is secretly incredibly competent. I love how loyal he is, and I love how much he despises River's Granddad and yet can't quite force himself to despise River as much as he wants to.
Standish, I love the way she interacts with all of them and keeps the team together. Her perpetual exasperation/affection, and the way she’s constantly showing, that yeah, in fact, she’s an agent too, actually, so don’t underestimate her. Where River often tries to be compassionate but trips over his own self-absorption, Standish seems to have more of an innate capacity for empathy and insight into people that the others don’t always recognize as the incredible skill/asset that it is.
So yeah, that's what I love about these characters, and I would happily take any story where they and any other members of their band you care to throw in there are interacting in ways that highlight these aspects
I do not ship anyone on the show and would rather not see any of them having interactions that feature romantic feelings or sex. At least not with each other. If you're inspired to give one of them an oc romantic interest, go for it.
